Derrick Eaves and family

The Farmington R-7 School District is pleased to announce Mr. Derrick Eaves as the new assistant principal at Farmington High School. He joins FHS Principal Dr. Jamie LaMonds and Assistant Principal Mr. Roy Northern for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Eaves will take over for Mr. Michael Holloway, who has accepted the principal position at Lincoln Intermediate.

Mr. Eaves, a Farmington alumni, has 24 years of teaching and educational leadership experience. He taught math for fourteen years and physical education for four years at Farmington High School. He served as a basketball, football, and head track coach during that time. He is a three-time Dream Team Boys Track Coach of the Year. Mr. Eaves was the assistant principal and athletic director during his six years at Fredericktown High School.

He and his wife Lindsey, a Farmington staff member, have three children: Kannon, 10, Ellie, 8, and Walker, 5. The family enjoys fishing, camping, and participating in various extracurricular activities. Mr. Eaves also enjoys his morning runs.

Regarding his return to Farmington, Mr. Eaves noted, “I am excited to be coming back to where I started my journey as an educator. I enjoyed the 18 years that I was a teacher at Farmington High School, and I look forward to working with the staff and admin team to create a place where students can meet their full potential.”
