Farmington Firefighters and Mr. Steven E. Brouillette

The Farmington R-7 School District is excited to launch the MOSAIC Project, led by Steven E. Brouillette. This project aims to transform a 4.54-acre area into a thriving habitat for native plants and a dynamic outdoor classroom for our students. This project will reintroduce native plant species, support pollinators, and enhance biodiversity while seamlessly integrating STEM learning opportunities for students in grades 1-8.

A key step in this project was a controlled burn performed by the dedicated Farmington Fire Department. This effort prepared the land for new growth by removing invasive species and enriching the soil. This effort begins to create a natural space for hands-on learning, promoting an understanding of ecological balance and conservation.

As we move forward, the MOSAIC Project seeks to create educational spaces and pathways for all students to explore, supported by collaborations with local experts and agencies. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved, especially Steven E. Brouillette and the firefighters, as we work together towards nurturing environmental stewardship among our students. This initiative is more than a land restoration; it's about instilling a lasting appreciation for nature in our community's youth.
